Jaipur, Museum of New Mexico align for new collection
October 9, 2013,
Norcross, Ga. - Area rugs and home accessories house Jaipur and The Museum of New Mexico Foundation have signed a licensing agreement to create and co-brand a new collection of rugs and pillows inspired by the ethnic textile collection at the Museum of International Folk Art, and the basketry and weaving collections at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture.
After visiting the collections at the two Santa Fe museums, Jaipur Rugs president, Asha Chaudry said her team "was so impressed after visiting the museums. The depth and breadth of the museums' collections inspired in them a new level of creativity and a fresh perspective into the contemporary design opportunities that ethnic material offers. Rooted in history and cultural tradition, and translated for a modern consumer, Traditions made Modern will afford consumers the opportunity to make a unique style statement."
