Robert Allen to debut Williamsburg Classics II collection

New York - A paisley jacquard, an updated lace interpretation, a flame-stitched design, and a hand blocked pattern are among the looks and treatments included in Robert Allen's new 18th Century inspired Williamsburg Classics II collection this spring.

Representing the second Williamsburg collection for Robert Allen, the new grouping is "a fresh interpretation of historic Americana...inspired by the most graceful classic looks" of the Colonial Williamsburg period, with its "modern colorations mixed with couture-like details," the company said. "Inspirations are as varied as Colonial dresses and lace caps, pottery and dishware and copper-plate engravings."

To bring the patterns up to date, Robert Allen used bold colors such as citron, fuchsia, cinnabar, spicy gold and crimson that it said were "taken directly from the fashion runways." Palette standouts include Salem Red, a chic coral red, and Azalea, a saturated and intense pink hue often accented with hints of lime.

"We are thrilled to be bringing our second Williamsburg collection to market," said Jennie Wilde, svp of design and marketing for Robert Allen. "This line continues to evolve and feels fresh and of the moment, yet with historic roots. Our clients appreciate this mix as it works well in a range of settings and styles."

All prints feature 100% linen grounds and are appropriate for accessories, light upholstery or window treatments. The wovens are soft to the touch and include designs appropriate for heavier upholstery projects.
