While Springs Industries is one of the largest manufacturers of home textiles in the United States, even it has realized that sourcing products is where the industry is headed.
"We've been saying that for some time," said Ted Matthews, vp of corporate communications. "We've been bringing in product to complement the things we make for quite some time."
Springs, according to Matthews, has been slowly expanding its global sourcing resources over the last several years because it recognizes that the home textiles manufacturing and retail landscape are rapidly changing and Springs must be able to readily adapt to those changes.
"In the last few years, we've been putting more and more focus on how we can continue to develop our sourcing expertise because we recognize strategically that we must deliver the broadest range of products anywhere from one source," Matthews said. "We are continually striving to have our U.S. operations complemented either through strategic alliances or sourced from other, foreign businesses."
