Robert Allen, DwellStudio expand partnership with Decorative Modern collection

New York - The Robert Allen Group's collaboration with DwellStudio has expanded again, this time with the Decorative Modern collection of new set of print and woven fabrics.

As the companies explained, "these dynamic designs draw inspiration from the classic and iconic style legacy of New York City, with nods to art deco, disco glamour, and cosmopolitan style."

More specifically, Decorative Modern displays "a cultured and contemporary look, infused with a worldly influence that adds a well-traveled appearance to the bold designs," they added. "The collection eschews the conventional rules of decorating, with a clever intuition for effortless layering and unexpected combinations that reveal an innate sense of style."

DwellStudio Founder Christiane Lemieux said the Decorative Modern colors, textures and signature prints "came together beautifully to create something modern, timeless and at the same time fashion forward. It is this juxtaposition of opposing ideas that makes the collection original and signature to DwellStudio."

The softly saturated color palette of Decorative Modern lends a warm and sophisticated touch to the line. While clean neutrals like Brindle, Dove, and Zinc ground the collection, bold hues such as spicy Persimmon and icy Aquatint highlight the line's contemporary notes.

The designs, too, implement a range of both the simple and the extravagant. As always, DwellStudio's signature animal patterns are abundant, including an oversized dragon called Ming Dragon and a tapestry-like litter of forest creatures called Folkland, balanced by bold geometrics in Futura and reimagined plaids in Unravel. Soft coordinates punctuate the collection further, with easy patterns like a subtle snakeskin in Renegade and a crosshatched linen in Regency Linen that encourage the layered look of Decorative Modern.

Fabrics of note include:

--Conduit, a maze-inspired chenille with a classic trellis pattern available in four colors: Aquatint, Dove, Espresso, and Midnight.

--Etched Velvet, which is constructed to highlight a metallic grid effect in five colorways: Aquatint, Dove, Espresso, Mineral Green, and Pearl.

--Folkland, a whimsical print featuring frolicking animals in two colors: Admiral and Aquatint.

--Futura, a bold geometric print featuring an interlocking circle motif in four color schemes: Dandelion, Dove, Midnight, and Persimmon.

--Kimono, a delicate, Asian-inspired chair-scale pattern with pops of contrasting colors. The hand-drawn geometric look woven is available in three hues: Dove, Midnight, and Persimmon.

--Leda Peony is a new take on the Jacobean floral. The hand-drawn look is printed on a cotton-linen construction and comes in four colorways: Aquatint, Dove, Midnight, and Persimmon.

--Ming Dragon, a reinvented Asian floral with a dragon motif in four colors: Admiral, Aquatint, Midnight, and Persimmon.

--Pantheon, a whimsical foliage print of prancing forest animals that complements the Decorative Modern line in three hues: Admiral, Dandelion, and Persimmon.

--Regency Linen, a luxurious print fabric in three colors: Copper, Steel, and Zinc.

--Renegade, a classic snakeskin print available in three colors: Brindle, Dove, and Mineral Green.

Unravel, an imperfect plaid print that comes in two shades: Midnight and Persimmon.

--Vreeland, which evokes the modern 1970s glamour of former Vogue editor and fashion icon Diana Vreeland. It comes in four printed shades: Aquatint, Brindle, Dandelion, and Persimmon.
