BRANDS: New Deals This Week

Monica PedersenNames from the world of fashion, interior design and a television pitch woman, as well as couple of iconic American brands, mark this week's licensing news.
Lifetime Brands Inc. signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Housewares America to manufacture, market, sell and distribute Debbie Meyer Products worldwide. Inventor Debbie Meyer is probably best known for her Debbie Meyer GreenBags, which extend the freshness of fruits and vegetables. She recently hit the one-billion-bags-sold mark. Meyer has been appearing on TV and selling her patented inventions for more than 15 years.
Cool Gear International inked a three-year worldwide licensing deal with Coca-Cola, which would bring Coca-Cola brand's logo and designs to Cool Gear's hydration products. The first product to feature the new Coca-Cola designs would be Cool Gear's new Coolgearcan, available for retail buyers for the holiday 2013 season, with a suggested retail price ranging from $7.99 to $9.99. Cool Gear will launch an everyday line of hydration and serveware products with Coca-Cola designs in early 2014.
The Homer Laughlin China Company signed new license partnership with Ellison First Asia for bath textiles and expanded its alliance with Town & Country Living for bedding. The collections will debut at the New York Home Fashions Market, Sept. 23-26. The Homer Laughlin China Company is the largest U.S. pottery manufacturer and the maker of colorful Fiesta dinnerware. The bedding lines feature Fiesta's color palette.
Town & Country introduced Fiesta kitchen textiles and tabletop linens during last fall's market. The new collection will include new textiles linens for the bathroom and updates to the current line of kitchen textiles and tabletop.
Softline Home Fashions signed a license with interior designer and television host Monica Pedersen to create the Make It Beautiful Collection. Pedersen has appeared on HGTV's series Designed to Sell, and Bang for Your Buck as well as other special programs and guest appearances. Her collection of decorative fabrics pillows and ready-made curtains, described as "affordable elegance," will debut in January 2014 as the Las Vegas Market.
Hugo Boss Home is launching the Boss Home Classic Collection, aiming the brand's luxury aesthetic at a lower price point to reach a broader market. The line, made by Sunham Home Fashions, will be available on, and and will arrive in stores in September. Price points range from $75 to $350.
