Jason Goldberger to manage Gilt Groupe's expanding home business

New York -- Gilt Groupe has appointed Jason Goldberger as its general manager of Gilt Home, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the home business, including business strategy, merchandise and site development.

He will report to Susan Lyne, chairman of Gilt Groupe.

Goldberger comes to Gilt Home from Hayneedle, where he served as senior vp of marketing, merchandising, and site. During his four-year tenure there, Goldberger is credited with having played an instrumental role in the creation of the Hayneedle brand and growing the business significantly. Prior to that, Goldberger spent eight years at Amazon as general manager for two businesses.

Gilt Home currently offers 30 sales per week from more than 400 brands, including Baker, Kravet, Jonathan Adler, Stark, Ligne Roset, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Frette, and Soicher Marin. The plan is to expand Gilt's home offerings later this fall, with a mixture of full-price merchandise, one-of-a-kind items, and daily flash sales.

Earlier this year, when Gilt Groupe acquired home décor and design site Decorati. Gilt Groupe's ceo, Kevin Ryan, said the design community will be a key component of Gilt's expanded home business.

Gilt Groupe currently has about 3.5 million members.
