Redesigned Macy’s Home to open

AVENTURA, Fla. -- The first of two Macy’s Home “redesign” stores is grand-opening here on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the Aventura Mall, with an unadvertised soft opening taking place this Sunday.
The three-floor unit was until recently a Burdine’s and is located next to a Macy’s. The new store will be a men’s, home and furniture gallery. The men’s gallery opened earlier this week, and today the home merchandise was being transported from the Macy’s store to the new Macy’s Home.
By mid-day, most of the bedding collections had already moved. Still left on the Macy’s floor were most of the bath goods as well as accent rugs and comforter sets. Several bins filled with clearance bedding items -- marked 60 percent off an already reduced price -- were scattered throughout the former home area.
Store officials said the grand opening event Oct. 27 will include special events in all categories and celebrity appearances.
