Tommy Mixes It Up

Tommy Hilfiger Home has gone boldly geometric in the Mix line it introduced two markets ago, and the brand has added a new top-of-the-line towel construction: cotton/bamboo.
“They're an easy put-up at retail,” said Brad Comisar, vice president, merchandising, Tommy Hilfiger Home. “You can get a fashion infusion without a lot of extra effort.”
Alongside the new Mix patterns, introductions in the casual area of the collection include Twister Day and Twister Night, hot-hued updates of the previous twill program.
It, too, answers the need for more frequent injections of newness, according to Harry Kartus, vice president and general manager, Tommy Hilfiger Home.
“Clearly, the casual side has been phenomenal,” Kartus said. “Now we're looking hard to figure out what the next evolution is — because things are changing more quickly than they were even a year ago.”
Adding newness on the other end of the spectrum, Hilfiger Home introduced a new bamboo and cotton towel under its Crest luxury brand. Available in 13 colors, the towel will retail at $20. The existing Signature towel retails at $15, and the Tommy Hilfiger towel at $10.
Also under Crest, the label is showing three new beds.
Drake offers a tailored, equestrian look, with a brown Moroccan pattern flocked against a camel background on the duvet. Dorchester consists of a bold floral tulip in bright pinks punched up with accents of ribbon, damask and embroideries. Berkley blends eggplant, gold and claret hues with leopard print, paisley and medallions.
In Tommy Hilfiger Collection, Cricket Hill weaves toile together with stripes and plaids in lime and turquoise. Sloane marries vivid stripes and Indian floral paisleys in a pieced duvet crossed by asymmetrical grossgrain ribbon. And Beluga nods to Hilfiger's nautical roots, with a palette of navy, red and soft silver as well as anchor and captain's wheel motifs.
