Sphinx increases size of AmericasMart space

Marking its second showroom expansion this year, Sphinx by Oriental Weavers is increasing the size of its space at AmericasMart for the Atlanta International Area Rug Show.
The company attributes this recent expansion effort to an increase in demand of its handmade rug offerings, which it first introduced in January in Atlanta. Two new handmade collections will be added to the line and introduced in Atlanta this summer.
The new showroom will be open in time for the upcoming July event. It is located directly across from the existing Oriental Weavers showroom.
Earlier this year Sphinx also expanded its High Point, NC, showroom in the International Home Furnishings Center.
Sphinx is also about to break ground on an expansion project of its Dalton, GA, warehouse to accommodate the growth of both its machinemade and handmade businesses. The company is adding 52,000 square feet — or 50 percent more space — to its existing facility. Construction is set to start in July and expected to be completed by the end of this year.
