Springs taps Shafran to oversee Regal sales and marketing

North Vernon, IN — Following the retirement later this month of Andrew Smithson, ceo of bath, accent and scatter rugs manufacturer and importer Regal, Springs Industries is placing Joe Shafran, general manager, in charge of Regal.
The move is not a direct replacement for Smithson, according to the company. However, Shafran, a longtime employee of Regal, will become the primary contact for Regal's accounts.
Smithson will retire as of Dec. 31 after 45 years in the retail and supplier industries, the past 28 of those years at Regal in various executive capacities.
