Cotton Inc. names new ad agency

New York — Cotton Incorporated has named DDB as its new advertising agency after an extensive three-month review. DDB was one of the four finalists, which included Publicis, Lowe and Ogilvy & Mather/New York.

"What tipped the balance was DDB's creative insight into a key target market for cotton; women ages 18-34. They clearly understand the versatility of this consumer, her lifestyle and the media we need to use in a rapidly changing marketplace," said Berrye Worsham, Cotton Incorporated president and ceo.

DDB will be charged with developing an integrated media campaign, one that will include television, print, the Internet and sales promotions. DDB replaces Ogilvy & Mather/New York, Cotton's agency of record for more than 30 years without a review. Cotton Incorporated's 2004 advertising budget is more than $20 million.
