Fabrics Section to Debut at Material World

Show operator Urban Expositions will put a special focus on Home Furnishings Fabrics as the newest growth area for the Sept. 25-27 edition of Material World New York at the Jacob Javits Center.
Home Furnishings Fabrics will join four other special focus areas for the 2007 New York edition: Eco-Friendly, Performance, Design & Merchandising Solutions, and Product Lifecycle Management. The five sectors will be feature educational programming, special promotions, and new product resources.
As part of the educational offerings, Home Textiles Today editor-in-chief Jennifer Marks will present a special seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Marks' presentation will include a brief industry overview and provide insight on the latest industry trends and innovations.
Material World will have more than 475 exhibitor companies, the show operator said. Exhibitors will include a variety of mills, converters, leather and trimming manufacturers showcasing product in a wide variety of categories, including cottons, chenille, chintzes, velvets, faux fabrics, flocks, jacquards, leather, sheeting, and tapestries.
"Home furnishings attendees will have the chance to explore these domestic and international resources while also getting an inside look at breaking home colors, trends, textures, and fabrics," said Tim von Gal, president, Material World.
