American Rug Craftsmen, Woolrich partner for collection
October 4, 2013,
Sugar Valley, Ga. - Mohawk Home's American Rug Craftsmen is calling its partnership with Woolrich a collaboration with a company that has been setting American style since 1830.
The Woolrich collection from American Rug Craftsmen "combines the all-American feel and aesthetic of the Woolrich Company with the quality craftsmanship of American Rug Craftsmen," noted Brandon Culpepper, vice president of specialty sales for Mohawk.
This is not the first time a Woolrich-designed rug has been produced by a Mohawk brand. Its upscale division Karastan Rugs has offered a few Woolrich-designed rugs in previous collections.
"We think American Rug Craftsmen, with its dedication to the American rug industry, is an excellent platform for this exciting, new, made-in-America, designed-for-America collection," Culpepper added.
Woven of polypropylene on Van De Wiele looms in the USA, the Woolrich Collection features plaids, panels and Native American and lodge looks in rich earth tones and spicy shades. Retail pricing is set at $199 for a 5 by 8 inches rug.
The collection targets furniture stores, carpet and rug specialty stores, e-commerce sites, and catalogs.
In other company news, American Rug Craftsmen is introducing two new printed rug collections - Flagstaff and Concord - during the High Point Market.
Culpepper noted Flagstaff and Concord rugs "are the first of their kind in the industry," crafted in the USA using Mohawk's new higher resolution printing capacity, "which makes rugs of great detail and beautiful color using the softest nylon yarn on the market. The result is a rug that is extremely soft, durable, sophisticated and affordable. This ups the game in printed rugs considerably."
The Flagstaff Collection offers a mix of bright colors and trendy designs - traditional patterns, florals, transitional styles - interpreted on a plush cut nylon pile construction.
The Concord Collection comprises printed rugs that feature the look of a petit point construction. Printed on a looped pile nylon base "that feels as soft as wool," Culpepper said, this collection features florals, traditional styles, transitional looks and nauticals to bring the look of modern crewels into a variety of settings. Bold colors earth tones, spice tones and metallic enhance Concord's fashionable designs.
Retail pricing is set at $199 for a 5 by 8-inches size in both Flagstaff and Concord. The collections target furniture stores, carpet and rug specialty stores, e-commerce sites, and catalogs.
