Safavieh updates e-commerce site

Port Washington, N.Y. – Five years since establishing its online ordering system, upscale area rug company Safavieh has updated its website – www.safavieh.com – with new features.
Arash Yaraghi, principal, said that the system represents several new “firsts.”
“Our customers tell us other people do not have an account history feature which gives a statement of all charges and credits to the dealer’s account, including payments,” Yaraghi said. On Safavieh’s improved site, dealers can view open orders, opt to receive email notifications each time an order is shipped, and can get copies of invoices and statements by email, Yaraghi explained.
The “research your account” tool gives customers access to their purchases in four different ways: by description, by serial number, by invoice number and by customer P.O. number, Yaraghi said.
Safavieh has also added a powerful search engine that enables dealers to locate inventory by name, design or description.
“The information provides inventory analysis, including past purchases and how each Safavieh product has performed for the customer,” he said. “If you don’t remember the item number or have access to invoice number, you can just describe a rug you have bought in the past – it’s really a very powerful tool.”
In tandem with the virtual ordering system, Safavieh recently increased its warehouse capacity, allowing the company to keep most of its collections in stock for quick-ship delivery.
