Audrey adds Royal Doulton license

New York — Table linen manufacturer Audrey Linens, a division of VKO, recently signed a licensing agreement with renowned manufacturer of luxury china and giftware The Royal Doulton Company to produce a range of home textiles — formal and informal table linens, kitchen textiles, bedding and bath products.

"This new agreement with Royal Doulton offers us the opportunity to develop beautifully designed products using the incredible museum-quality archives of this strong internationally known brand," said Audrey Friedman, president, Audrey Linens, which has been around for more than thirty years. "It also will be the key to Audrey's expansion into the bed and bath arena. "We have created an exciting line of table linens for spring 2002 delivery and will be showing bedding and bath for fall 2002 delivery," Friedman said.

The new table linen collection is already being previewed and will be officially introduced at the New York Home Textiles market this week. One of the first patterns developed is Old Country Roses, a popular brand in the bridal market.

"This exciting market debut will be the springboard for the Royal Doulton line and the many future patterns and designs that will be coming on the market in the coming months," said Jeffry Vaughn, senior vp, sales and marketing.

For Royal Doulton the licensing partnership represents its latest initiative to expand into home furnishing categories beyond tabletop and decorative hard goods.

"We could not have picked a more innovative and creative company to be our table linen and domestics licensee," said Ellen Brown, vp, licensing, Royal Doulton. "Audrey personifies quality and technical design capabilities, which is so important to our home program. We welcome Audrey Linens to our licensee family with great anticipation, and know that they will be an integral part of the Royal Doulton Home Furnishings licensing program."
