Glenoit expands rugs by size and assortment

At the New York Market – To accommodate its growing accent rug, kitchen mat, doormat and now area rug offerings, Glenoit/Ex-Cell restructured its showroom for market with added space for the category.
The Ultimate Kitchen Rug, as it calls its latest performance collection, is guaranteed for 100 washes – an attribute Glenoit came up with via a special formula used in making the backing of each rug. These tufted rugs are said to “look even better after each washing,” said Deborah Powell, vp merchandising. “The backing remains intact and the fibers seem to bloom with each wash.”
Other kitchen rug offerings for market include additional upscale and elegant looks that take their design cues from trends in more clean-lined, industrial looks in modern and high-end kitchen appliances. This extension also includes a variety of runner sizes from 20-inch-by-28-inch to 60-inches long.
The company also emphasized for market its capabilities to create area rug sizes in many or most of its assortments, especially in kitchen looks but also for dens and other parts of the home.
