Designer Berkus to launch on HSN  

St. Petersburg, Fla. – As part of its home furnishings upgrade, interactive retailer HSN will debut an exclusive Nate Berkus line on Oct. 13.

Mindy Grossman, ceo of IAC Retailing/HSN, said that Berkus’ “talent and strong personal appeal aligns perfectly with the new strategic direction we are taking in the home lifestyle arena.”

At launch, the line will include textiles, linens, decorative pillows, furniture pieces and accessories, the retailer said. Slated for add-ons later are decorative accessories, lamps, wovens, and rugs.

Berkus, who launched a lifestyle merchandising collection at Linens ’n Things in September 2005, will team with Elle Décor in the first five weeks of the HSN launch for a series of one-hour trend programs. LNT and Berkus announced earlier this year that their affiliation had come to an end.

HSN is No. 50 on the HTT Top 50 Retailing Giants, with 2006 home textiles sales of $62 million.
