GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Unifi, Inc. is closing Nylon plant number one in Mayodan, N.C., and will move those operations and offices to plant three in nearby Madison, N.C.
According to the company, the move will allow Unifi to centralize production between the two sites and increase the overall efficiency of the Nylon business unit operations.
Plant three is the Nylon division’s largest facility with over 1 million square feet of production space.
The company expects that fewer than 30 positions will be eliminated due to the move and that the majority of employees will be transferred from plant one to plant three.
