Windham opens NY showroom
March 30, 2001-- Home Textiles Today,
RIDGEFIELD, CT -Just in time for April market, Windham Weavers-an importer of table linens, kitchen textiles and accent rugs-is moving to a new its New York showroom in a bigger space at the Textile Building after spending six years at its original showroom two blocks away.
"We doubled our business, and we needed more space," said Howie Mallow, executive vp of sales.
Mallow would not specify the size of the new space in suite 210 at 295 Fifth Avenue, only to say it is "three times the size" of the old showroom at 261.
"Now we have more showroom space and more office space, even private conference rooms," Mallow said.
Windham' business has consistently doubled each of the last three years, with a 40 percent increase in the customers the company serves, he said. And Windham's private label business has grown to 25 percent, he said.
"But we never had the proper amount of space to show all our products," he said. "Every time someone came in they'd say to us, 'Oh, I didn't know you carry that.' But now, we are able to have the breadth of our assortment right in front of our customers."
