Carena steps up to publisher at HTT

NEW YORK – Joseph Carena has been named publisher of Home Textiles Today, effective immediately. He succeeds Mark Fraser, who has been promoted to vice president, publishing director, China for HTT’s parent company, Reed Business Information.

Carena joined HTT in February 1997 as associate publisher. Prior to that, he was marketing manager for home textiles, then associate publisher at what was then called HFD. Before his publishing career, Carena spent 22 years at Eastman Kodak’s East Chemical Products subsidiary selling Kodel polyester fibers to the home textiles industry.

“I’m thrilled to take the leadership position of Home Textiles Today,” Carena said. “It has been my primary source of information for an industry I’ve worked for all my career.”

Said Fraser: “Joe brings a wealth of experience to his new role as publisher.  He will also be able to draw upon a talented staff in developing HTT to meet the needs of the marketplace in the future.”

In a further organizational change, Kevin Castellani has been named vice president, publishing director, for Home Textiles Today. Castellani, who was publisher of HTT from 1992 to 1997, is also vp, publishing director for Furniture Today, Home Accents Today, Kids Today, Casual Living, Garden Décor, Gifts & Decorative Accessories and Playthings.
