Kohl's opens West Coast IT office

Milpatis, Calif. - Kohl's has opened a new information technology office here in Silicon Valley to support online growth and multi-channel inititiaves.
The 52,000-sq.-ft. facility operates as an extension of the retailer's IT team at company headquarters in Menomonee Falls, Wis., and will initially grow to more than 30 employees.
Kohl's online sales grew to $1.4 billion in the recent fiscal year after three consecutive years of more than 40% annual growth.
"We have made significant investments in our IT and ominchannel initiatives to ensure we have the platforms, technology and tools to allow customers to shop when they want and from where they want," said Kevin Mansell, chairman, president and ceo.
On the bricks-and-mortar side of the business, Kohl's plans to open 12 new stores and conduct 30 remodels this year.
