Sunwin Highlights Creativity And Product Development In Bed And Bath Collections

SHANGHAI, China—Shanghai Sunwin Industry Co. is developing a strong reputation within the global home textiles industry for its dedication to originality, professionalism and consistency.

Founded in 2002, the privately-held company has grown rapidly and today has annual sales in excess of US $60 million. Under the leadership of president Shadow Wang and seven directors, Sunwin is registering an annual growth rate of 60 percent and offers a diverse range of bed and bath products, including throws, blankets, bedding ensembles, children’s bedding, bathrobes, outdoor products and accessories.

“Our goal is to be the dominate supplier of throws, blankets, bathrobes and kids’ bedding in the world,” declares Wang. The company currently exports 100 percent of its products to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain and  Australia, and is expanding in the Russian, Middle East and South American markets.

“We pride ourselves on continuous creation and a smart marketing strategy,” Wang points out, noting that the company is experiencing the most growth with “high-end department stores, specialty stores, and design-driven, trend-setting channels of distribution.”

Sunwin also supplies products to chain stores, catalogs and Internet retailers, and the company is experiencing growth with several new channels of distribution, including the hotel and spa trade, and outdoor retailers.
The U.S. represents Sunwin’s biggest single market, with U.S. department stores and specialty retailers accounting for about 65 percent of its business. “The biggest market gives us the biggest support,” remarks Wang.

Sunwin’s primary showroom and headquarters are located in Shanghai and the company maintains three modern manufacturing facilities in Jiangsu Province, including a 14,000 square meter facility in Zhangjiagang City; a 28,000 square meter facility in Jintan City; and an 8,000 square meter plant Changshu City. Sunwin has received numerous awards and also achieved Oeko-Tex certification for its use of environmentally friendly materials and manufacturing procedures.

The company exhibits at major U.S. and international trade shows, including the New York Home Fashions Market, the International Furniture Market in High Point, N.C., the Magic Show, Juvenile Products Manufacturers Show, the ABC Kids Expo and Heimtextil.

Wang says the company works closely with its customers to develop products that will appeal to the ultimate consumer. “What’s selling today are the three ‘F’s: fashion, function and fun,” he explains. “Business always follows partnership, and we always respect our commitments and listen to buyers’ suggestions. Our rewards come from providing benefits to our customers.”

Sunwin is targeting environmentally-friendly products as its next major area of growth. “We are developing products using organic cotton, bamboo fibers, soybean fibers, corn fibers and milk fibers,” Wang points out. “The hot looks are natural products and products that are soft to the touch. We believe that design drives need. Organic concepts are eco-friendly and people-friendly.”
