WestPoint adds two to board of directors

WEST POINT, GA — WestPoint Stevens Inc. announced the addition of Joseph Gladden Jr. and Hicks Lanier to the company's board of directors.
The announcement, which came during WPS' annual meeting, brings the board's membership to nine.
Gladden recently retired from his position as executive vp/general counsel for The Coca-Cola Company, in Atlanta. He also served as vice chairman of the board of directors of Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc.
Gladden began his career with The Coca-Cola Company in 1985 as senior staff counsel and has since served as vp, deputy general counsel, general counsel and senior vp.
Lanier is currently employed by Oxford Industries Inc. as president, chairman and ceo.
"We are fortunate indeed to have secured the wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise that these two individuals will bring to our board," said Holcombe Green Jr., chairman and ceo, WestPoint Stevens. "Both have built distinguished careers in their own fields and are major contributors to the business, educational and cultural amenities in Atlanta and other parts of the country."
