Conran Shop moving to ABC
February 3, 2010,
New York – The Conran Shop here, one of seven international shops founded by legendary Sir Terence Conran, will move to a new venue at ABC Carpet & Home in March.
Currently the lower level houses fabrics, which will move to the mezzanine level under the new name of Wolf Home, formerly Silk Trading.
Though the size is dramatically less that the store that will close, “that size space will still say ‘Conran’s – it will evoke a raw, industrial, loft look,” Paulette Cole, ceo and creative director of ABC Home explained. “It’s an iconic brand that is not measured by size.”
Having met with Sir Terence and the Conran’s team, Cole added “they are state of the art, very passionate and we feel collectively excited by the collaboration.”
The new space will eliminate bed, bath and kids lines, said Marisa Jones, media relations manager for Conran. Featured collections will be the Well Considered range if affordable household essentials as well as an expanded selection of Design Classics and timeless furniture, including an outdoor furniture collection.
“This is a very unique opportunity to become more accessible to our customers and collaborate with one of New York’s most loved stores,” said Emmanuel Plat, president of The Conran Shop.
