Creative Home Cozies up with Lakeside Cabin
April 17, 2006-- Home Textiles Today,
New York — Through its first ever Lodge-themed bedding presentation, Dakotah by Creative Home Furnishings has coordinated bath towel ensembles and fleece decorative pillows and throws to a top-of-bed collection for the first time.
Toby Weinstein, vp, sales and marketing, told HTT that its Lakeside Cabin collection was the brainchild of customers. “We got a lot of calls from customers to do it,” she explained. “There's a lot of interest for cabins, lakeside looks, mountainside looks, you name it. It's a fun, cozy, warm style that can work in a lodge or a cabin or even in a guest bedroom.”
One result is an extra bed — the eighth — the company dreamed up and created. Typically for market, Dakotah by Creative Home shows six to seven beds, she explained, that center on traditional, contemporary and Southwestern looks.
“This is our first lodge bed,” Weinstein said.
The comforter and shams are tapestry trimmed with faux red leather that is embroidered with moose and bears.
The bath towel sets, made of cotton terry, are embroidered with the same wildlife icons, as are the fleece decorative pillows and throws.
Another new feature just for Lakeside Cabin is draft pillows, for the bottom slit under bedroom doors. They are made of faux brown leather and are also embroidered with moose and bears.
While all pieces are sold separately, four items — a comforter, two standard shams and a bed skirt — are set to retail for $500. The fleece pillows and throws are set to range from $18 to $25, and the draft pillow hits a $14.99 tag.
Price points for the bath towels are still being developed, Weinstein said.
