Commerce, CA — Extreme value retailer 99 Cents Only, known for creative promotions such as giving away television sets to the first 99 customers to arrive for a store grand opening, is making hay with the California governor recall election.
The retailer is searching for a 99-year-old Californian to sponsor in the Oct. 7 plebiscite. The company announced it will pay the $3,499.99 filing fee and gather the signatures needed to put the chosen candidate on the ballot.
