Sam's Club Elevates Davis
Sam's Club has promoted Cindy Davis to evp of membership, marketing and e-commerce; she will continue reporting to Doug McMillon, president and ceo. Davis had been responsible for membership and marketing, and she has helped achieve better member acquisition and retention rates through events such as Sam's Club 25th Anniversary. Scott Williams, vp e-commerce, will now report directly to Davis.
"Cindy has re-energized the membership and marketing organization and has proven to be a capable partner leading our effort to integrate these functions with merchandising and operations to enhance the member experience and communicate the value of Sam's Club," said McMillon.
Duckwall Taps Beaith for Top IT Post
Rural general merchandiser Duckwall-ALCO Stores has named Ted Beaith svp and chief information officer, reporting to president and ceo Larry Zigerelli.
Beaith comes to the 258-store chain with more than 20 years of information technology experience, including posts with retailers Shoppers Drug Mart and Brookshire Brothers.
He most recently was senior retail practice manager for international consulting firm CapGemini USA.
Target Promotes Francis
Upscale discounter Target has promoted Michael Francis to evp and chief marketing officer.
"Under Michael's leadership, Target has built one of the most recognizable and well-respected brands in America," said Target president and ceo Gregg Steinhafel. Francis was previously evp marketing of the 1,648-store chain.
