CIFF Organizers Respond to Competing Shows

Organizers of the China International Furniture Fair, held here, issued a statement noting that the China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex is the only official venue to host the CIFF event.

The statement is in response to two other events planned in Guangzhou next March that will have a combination of exhibition and retail space.

The first of these separate shows is being promoted by a group called Red Star. The other is being promoted by Jisheng Wellborn Group, which opened a similar venue in Shanghai in September 2007.

“There is no other sub venue,” CIFF organizers said in a statement. “We strongly reject any imposture recruitment of exhibitors and visitors in the name of CIFF, and preserve and declare the right to claim damages against any violator.”

CIFF organizers say they will not bear any liability for any loss or damage deriving from companies' participation in other shows held around the same time as CIFF.

Held twice a year for the past 12 years, the 24th edition of CIFF is planned for Sept. 6 to 9 at the China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex. The March CIFF is planned for March 18 to 21, 2010, and a separate CIFF office furniture show event is planned for March 27 to 30, 2010. For more information on CIFF, visit www.ciff-gz.com.
