Majestic, Hollander coordinate lineups
October 29, 2001-- Home Textiles Today,
Majestic Rug Co., based here, and Boca Raton, FL-based Hollander Home Fashions have forged a partnership that represents a milestone for both companies.
Majestic, an importer of area, accent and scatter rugs, is creating a line that coordinates with the 32 juvenile, tweener and regular bedding collections Hollander introduced at the recent New York Home Textiles market.
The partnership marks the first licensing partnership for each company within the home textile category.
"We thought it would be good to work together, and we were right," said Steve Couri, president and ceo, Majestic Rug. "Based on this experience, licensing may be a new entity for Majestic."
Added Sandy McNeil, senior vp, fashion bedding division, Hollander: "Majestic represents our first licensing partnership with another home textile company, and it's proven to be a wonderful partner."
For the New York market, Majestic launched with 18 rugs that coordinated with Hollander's 11 collections for its juvenile and tweener categories. They included rugs that were shaped, glow-in-the-dark and in assorted colorways.
"It was very well received," McNeil said. "Now we're working privately with our customers to coordinate rugs with all of our new collections to give them a full package deal."
More specifically, McNeil said that Majestic has also begun producing coordinating rugs for Hollander's remaining 21 adult/regular collections. Size for the rugs range from a 2.5' x 2.5' square through a 5' x 8' rectangular, said Couri.
All of the rugs Majestic is producing to coordinate with Hollander's line are either acrylic or cotton hooked and are made in China.
