Cost Plus taps Target marketing exec Castiglione

Oakland, Calif. -- Cost Plus has hired Frank Castiglione as senior vp of marketing and advertising. He will also manage the company’s recently launched website. Castiglione spent the last ten years as a senior marketing executive with the Target Corporation, most recently as the senior vp of marketing for the Marshall Fields brand.
Analysts Wedbush Morgan said the move should allow Cost Plus executive vp Theresa Strickland to focus on merchandising as the 266-unit chain revamps store presentations by summer.
Since Barry Feld joined the retailer last October as president and ceo, he has worked to build out the management team and implement a new strategy dubbed “Out with the old, In with the new.”
