Maitè Designs Pleased with U.S. Launch

Maitè Designs, which manufactures fine linens for the European and Japanese markets, recently celebrated its sixth-month anniversary in the U.S.
"We believe we have unique products that will cater to the U.S. consumer. We also have the advantage of in-house production," said Deepali Velayuthan, general manager of the North American Division.
The Atlanta debut included new collections of duvet covers, bedspreads, sheet-sets, pillow shams, decorative pillows, bathrobes and table linens in 100% cotton and blended silk-cotton fabric ranging from 350 to 750 thread counts.
Liu Xiao, president and ceo of Maitè Designs said, "We felt that this would be the perfect venue for the launch of our new and exclusive collection of signature linens specially designed for U.S. consumer."
Velayuthan said that in line with Maitè Designs' long-term U.S. strategy, the company plans to target retailers and wholesalers in a variety of distribution channels, customizing its marketing to cater to each.
"Our goal is to pass on the benefits of production in China to the consumers here," she said.
The company is looking for a permanent space in the AmericasMart, she added.
Maitè Designs employs more than 20 designers developing original designs for the U.S. market, she said. The manufacturing operation encompasses more than 5,000 workers and also produces private label programs for leading brands in Europe, Japan, and the United States.
The company's full product range includes bedspreads, comforters, sheets, pillows, curtains, robes, and table linens.
