April 22, 2009-- Home Textiles Today,
Concord, N.H. – Handcrafted area rug and accessories designer and manufacturer Company Cis moving into a new showroom at High Point’s International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC) in time for the market later this week.
The new space, in showroom D431, will be stocked with the company’s new fall 2009 collection.
The fall 2009 collection has been divvied into three design groups: Dress a Room, Languages of Color and Modern Threads.
Dress a Room’s tones, patterns and fabrics speak of casual elegance with its color blocking and watercolor effects. It includes one bedding set in cool color combinations and one in warm hues.
Making a floral statement for fall, Languages of Color shows caramel as the new neutral paired with pops of fresh jewel tones. Inspired by traditional global ikat designs and antique Russian textiles, the new product group features a dramatic combination of large-scale medallions, feminine floral patterns, silk, velvet and tweed accent pieces.
Modern Threads emphasizes bursts of color in a palette that includes shades like lake, pumpkin, grass and sun interpreted on a variety of textures. It also includes the company’s limited edition “Give a Hoot” rug, which was designed to celebrate Company C’s 15th year in business. The 4-by-6 rug employs six types of yarn and a pole pocket on the back for hanging on a wall.
Company C is celebrating its 15th anniversary during the market with a speaking engagement with retailer and author Mary Liz Curtin, who wrote “A Shopkeeper’s Manual” and is co-owner of Clawson, Mich.-based shop Leon & Lulu, April 27 at 3 p.m., followed by a cocktail party at 4 p.m.
