Dalton, Ga. - Just after Pantone's selection of Radiant Orchid 18-3224 as its 2014 Color of the Year, Oriental Weavers announced last week that it has rugs in that color available to ship immediately.
Oriental Weavers and Pantone Universe, the consumer products brand of parent company Pantone, have an exclusive partnership for the design and manufacture of area rugs.
Because of that relationship, Oriental Weavers received the top secret 2014 Pantone Color of the Year information months in advance of the public announcement in order to incorporate the color into the company's new designs, launching at the January markets. OW has already added the color to its Pantone Universe Focus shag rug collection.
The Radiant Orchid shag rugs are in stock and ready to ship starting today.
"We are extremely proud to already have the new Radiant Orchid shag rugs produced and ready to ship," said Jonathan Witt, vice president of Oriental Weavers.
"Our number one goal is always to produce fashionable, on-trend area rugs that help our retailers attract consumers to their rug departments and most importantly, sell more products. Having the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year shag rugs produced and ready to ship on the same day the formal announcement was made, we have delivered on that promise again. We are so excited for our retail partners to be the first among their peers in selling rugs featuring this now-famous color. Also, we will have several new collections, all containing Radiant Orchid, on display at the January markets."
