DuPont marks 200 years with retro pillows

Helping to celebrate its parent company DuPont's 200th anniversary, DuPont Home Textiles will revive several retro-style pillows in conjunction with Louisville Bedding The pillows will have modern fill but retro pricing.
The jumbo-size pillows will bear brands and logos from past decades and sell with retail price points from the '60s, '70s and '80s for a limited time only. DuPont Dacron I, Hollofil II and Quallofil II will be revived and filled with the modern fill version of the original fibers.
"The idea is to capitalize on the trend toward 'retro' everything," said Wes Jones, DuPont's marketing manager for apparel and home textiles. "We're taking that mini-trend and launching a product line that brings back the old brands."
"Consumers will remember these well-recognized brands from the last 40 years, and we think they will be thrilled to get these latest fibers at the 'retro' prices," said David Roshberg, national merchandising manager for Louisville Bedding. "We are excited to partner with DuPont to bring back these pillows and celebrate the role of DuPont in the everyday lives of consumers throughout history."
The three pillows represent a good, better, best strategy. The Dacron I will be offered for $6.99, the Hollofil II at $7.99 and the Quallofil II at $9.99.
