Carpenter introductions take basics beyond
October 26, 2004-- Home Textiles Today,
NEW YORK — In an effort to infuse excitement and fashion into basics, Carpenter has introduced 400-count and 500-count silk cotton jacquard ticks for the first time and added quilting techniques to mattress pads.
New looks include: scalloped diamonds on a squared dobby, a bricked motif, quilted geo floral circles, overscale scallops on a fern jacquard and overscale scallops on a grid.
In addition, the company is now adding the antimicrobial Rely fiber to its mattress pads as well as Teflon fabric protectors. Carpenter has incorporated some of the stats from its national awareness campaign and consumer research to the packaging of its newest products.
According to Earl Rittenberg, Carpenter’s eastern regional sales manager, more retailers are paying attention to the packaging and whether the product will be in a box or a bag. "Everything we put Sleep Better on reinforces it as a value-added product," he said, adding that the company is trying to sell value-added products that bring consumers back to retailers.
Carpenter has also introduced six-zone visco foam mattress pads that offer more support for the center of the body. There are different shaped cells in each of the zones. Also new is the Responsive Bed Pillow, which has a HyperSoft visco foam core for support.
