Wamsutta Baby to Show at ABC
September 6, 2004-- Home Textiles Today,
Springs Baby, a business unit of Springs Industries, will feature Wamsutta Baby, its signature collection, at the upcoming ABC Kids Expo. The collection offers designs reflecting the dressmaker details of the adult Wamsutta bedding line.
“Wamsutta Baby has always offered luxury and detail to the discriminating nursery decorator, and this year's offerings capture the design-driven appeal of adult home fashions,” said Lucia Fitzgerald, president of Springs Baby.
Wamsutta Baby includes Riviera — a four-piece ensemble of washable polysuede with a two-tone pieced quilt. Also of washable suede, the pieced bumper is overfilled as is the 14-inch crib skirt to pull the entire set together. Riviera comes in sky and carnation.
Springs Baby is also showing simple gift sets and blankets that range from a two-piece set to a five-piece set with a mixture of layette and blanket combos.
Luxury blankets include washable polysuede crib blankets backed by sherpa fleece, whimsical chenille crib blankets with stripes and dots, a faux-fur crib blanket backed to satin in three colorways, and acrylic chenille with organza ribbon trim.
Also featured are a fleece Travel Set including travel bag with large appliqué and matching blanket, a two-in-one fleece hat-blanket combination, and a two-cloth burp set in six prints offered with a reusable patterned vinyl bag.
“Parents and grandparents want to indulge their new babies, and fabrics such as satin and chenille make the items in our Wamsutta Baby collection elegant yet comfortable choices for the nursery,” Fitzgerald said.
Other items in the Wamsutta Baby collection include Sherbert Stripe — three quilts made of 230-count sateen from the solid-sheet line. The quilts coordinate with each other as well as with the sheets and encompass the entire color palette of the sheet program.
Annabelle and Hunter are four-piece quilt ensembles featuring mixes of print, chambray, seersucker and yarn dyes. In pinks, cream and soft greens, Annabelle has floral and leaf appliqués with embroidered details. Hunter has dinosaur appliqués in cool, crisp blues, greens and periwinkles.
The expo will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Sept. 10 to 13.
In addition, Springs Baby will showcase its Warner Bros. Baby Looney Tunes Patchwork design in a cotton comforter, bumper and sheet with dots, tattersall and printed denim accents.
