American Silk Mills names Slough president

New York – Robin Slough has been promoted to president of American Silk Mills, the high-end woven decorative fabrics mill and supplier.

Sough, who joined American Silk seven years ago as vp sales, assumes one of the roles previously held by John Sullivan, who remains chairman and ceo as well as principal of the company.

“It’s time for Robin to assume more responsibilities,” said Sullivan. The company, he added, “is expanding our ‘purchased goods business’ [fabrics made outside its own mill], but the key to our continued growth is our own products.” As part of the company’s growth program, he added, “we continue to upgrade our equipment.”

Sullivan pointed with particular pride to his two senior executives Slough and vp design Cynthia Clark-Douthit, who he said “work together as a seamless team.”
