Shaw Living gets new and bigger high-tech DC

Dalton, Ga. – Shaw Industries Group Inc. has opened a new and larger state-of-the-art distribution facility in Ringgold, Ga., – not far from headquarters. The facility will service national retail chain customers for Shaw Living area and accent rug products.

Plant 37, as it is called, began operations in May and is 95% completed. It is expected to be up and running at full capacity by August.

The site measures more than 600,000 square feet. It is equipped with computerized and consolidated shipping technology – capabilities that the company said provide customers with more timely service and ensure on-time delivery.

Additionally, Plant 37 was made to provide Shaw Living with “a more efficient and state-of-the-art automated packaging system,” the company explained, and houses all related distribution methods under the same roof.

“This facility is a commitment to the future of our rug division,” said Jeff Brown, vp, Shaw Living. “We will be moving product as fast and efficiently as we can to satisfy our customers and improve our own effectiveness as a company.”
