Kmart taps Gap exec for top merchant slot

Troy, MI — Kmart has hired Lisa Schultz as senior vp and chief creative officer, a new position, to oversee Kmart's "creative vision" as it pertains to product and merchandising.
Schultz was previously executive vp of product development and design at The Gap from 1987 to 2001. Since leaving The Gap she has been a consultant to the fashion and beauty business. Her career also includes executive positions at Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein.
All three report directly to president and ceo Julian Day.
