Bon-Ton’s Armeli, Lockwood promoted; Callahan to retire

York, Pa. – The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. is promoting two members of its merchant organization and saying goodbye to one, the regional department store chain announced today.

Therese Callahan, svp, gmm, center core and children's, is retiring from her post effective Feb. 5. Callahan, whose career spans more than 40 years, joined Bon-Ton in October 2006.

Replacing Callahan is Joyce Armeli, who is being promoted from svp, gmm, ready-to-wear. She has been with The Bon-Ton since 1977 when she joined as a trainee. Over the years, she has worked on senior merchandise management assignments and has held various divisional merchandise manager, buyer and assistant buyer positions.

Filling Armeli’s prior post is Kiki Lockwood, who is being promoted from vp, dmm, ladies' better sportswear, which she has held since joining the company in August 2002.

Both Armeli and Lockwood report to Tony Buccina, vice chairman, president - merchandising.

"We are appreciative of the significant contributions and leadership [Callahan] provided during her tenure with Bon-Ton and extend our best wishes to her in retirement,” Buccina said. “We are also very pleased we have the strength and expertise within our organization to elevate outstanding individuals. [Armeli] has been instrumental in leading the company's ready-to-wear division…and will be an asset to our company in her new role. [Lockwood], with 33 years of retail experience, brings to her new position significant acumen in the ladies' ready-to-wear area as a result of her successes as dmm, better sportswear…I look forward to capitalizing on their expertise as we execute our merchandise initiatives."
