HSN to celebrate 30 years of direct retailing

St. Petersburg, Fla. – In July, Home Shopping Network (HSN) will turn 30 years old, and the television and online retailer is celebrating with a revamped presentation and special features – including the addition of new products in home and other categories – throughout the month.
Under the theme “We’re Going to Surprise You,” HSN will feature surprises, which include the new products and special gifts and savings, as well as celebrity guests.
“Throughout the month, viewers will have the opportunity to enjoy many of our core, established brands, which our customers have come to know and love throughout the years, as well as an array of exciting new discoveries we’ll be launching in all categories, including beauty, fashion, and home/lifestyle,” said Mindy Grossman, ceo of IAC Retailing, the retail company that operates HSN.
“Everything will be showcased within the new look and feel of HSN, which emphasizes editorial presentations, engaging formats, and expert guests,” said Grossman.
The kick-off is set for July 1 with a first-time appearance by famed chef Emeril Lagasse. Throughout the day, Lagasse will showcase his signature Emerilware line, share recipes and cooking tips, and prepare meals.
“Surprises, especially when they are about great products, are exciting,” Grossman added. “They pique your curiosity and engage you, and that’s exactly what we want to do, not only for our current customers but also for those people who are experiencing HSN for the first time.”
