Loftex Recruits Kambak, Promotes Dale
Jeff Kambak has joined Loftex USA as evp, sales.
Kambak had been vp, national sales manager for Faribault Mills since January. Earlier he was vp, national sales manager for the Cannon and Royal Velvet brands at Li & Fung. Prior to that he was with Welspun USA, and began his career at WestPoint Pepperell in 1983.
At Loftex he reports to Gretchen Dale, who has been promoted to coo of the company, and who will head up the US division. She earlier was evp.
Yaping Wang is president of Loftex USA and chairman of Loftex Industries, China.
Gottschalks Hires Navarro
W estern regional department store chain Gottschalks has named David Navarro vp logistics, reporting directly to Gregory Ambro, vp and coo of the 62-store retailer.
Navarro has more than 25 years of experience in distribution, logistics and corporate transportation. Prior to joining Gottschalks he worked for eight years with Liz Claiborne; previously he held positions at Stage Store, SDI Industries, Casual Corner Group, May and Foley's.
Tinsley Fund Fuels Scholarships
Thanks in part to donations from home textiles vendors, The Crossroads School in Paoli, Pa., raised $9,000 at a charity event dedicated to Shirley Tinsley, late wife of industry sales veteran Rusty Tinsley.
Tinsley, who died in an automobile accident in 2003, had been a secretary at the school. The Shirley Tinsley Scholarship Fund holds the fundraiser annually.
Home textiles suppliers donated comforters, towels and curtains for a re-gifting table at the fundraiser. The event also included guest appearances by local CBS and Fox News anchors as well as a basketball clinic featuring former Villanova standout Jason Fraser.
