Avanti Linens Partners with Lolita

Avanti Linens will debut a line of home textiles featuring the designs of Lolita, creator of a line of whimsical cocktail glasses.

A line of beach towels and giftable totes will debut during the New York Home Fashions Market in September, but the company is also working on kitchen textiles and table linens. Embellished bath towels and bath accessories are also on the horizon.

"It opens up doors for Avanti," said executive vp, president and ceo Michael Tauber. "Lolita is selling in a lot of gift stores we haven't had before."

This marks Lolita's first textiles license, said Tracy "Lolita" Healy, who founded her company in 2000. The beach towel launch "is the perfect fit for our women out there. My ladies love the beach."

The Lolita line of hand-painted cocktail glasses have become collectibles for some fans. Each contains the recipe for an adult beverage on the bottom. This past spring, the company introduced a line of bowls. It also has candles and paper goods under license. Healy has an entertainment lifestyle book coming out in January 2010.

"Eight million women own some of my glasses, so the patterns are very well-recognized," said Healy.
