Lord & Taylor names Adams chief marketer   

New York – Independent department store chain Lord and Taylor has named Roger Adams to the newly created position of svp and chief marketing officer, reporting directly to president and ceo Jane Elfers.

Adams most recently served as chief marketing officer for The Home Depot. He previously worked with Pepsi-Cola, Nabisco, Keebler and General Motors.

Adams will build on the Lord and Taylor re-branding campaign, launched by the 47-unit retailer last fall. Under Elfers’ guidance the company has been upscaling merchandise assortments, improving in-store services and amenities, revamped brand packaging and begun an overhaul of its online space. The retailer plans to add home and jewelry departments, leveraging the expertise of Fortunoff, which was acquired by Lord & Taylor’s owner earlier this year.
