Caldeira Looks Ahead

Enjoying a market that presented "satisfying" results, Caldeira USA is looking ahead to next year with plans of expanding its throws and soft window treatment business.

Tony Caldeira, owner, told HTT market was "better than expected, and we're very happy with the retailers' responses to our new ideas."

Decorative pillows in both high-end European styles and more moderate China-made versions — especially velvet and velvet-like looks, still pose as the drivers of the company's business.

But as existing and new customers increasingly demand window offerings, Caldeira USA is ramping up to build its soft window assortment in 2010

"By next market, we'll have an even bigger and better window line," he said.
