IMRA morphs into RILA

Arlington, Va. — In an effort to more effectively mirror its membership and mission, the International Retail Association's board of directors has voted to change its name to Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA).
"Retail Industry Leaders Association better reflects who we are," said Sandy Kennedy, RILA president. "Our members are among the most successful and innovative companies in the retail industry. The retailers and suppliers that we represent are among the most reputable companies and brands in the world. We wanted a name that included who we represent — the retail industry, and more specifically, those who lead it."
In addition to the new name, which the board voted for at its Jan. 25 meeting, the association also unveiled its new tagline, "Retail's Future...Educate, Innovate, Advocate."
