Duquesne, Pa.. - Sleep solutions manufacturer American Textile Company held a ground-breaking ceremony today at its production and distribution facility in Tifton, Ga., which is expanding just three years after it opened.
The plant, which produced millions of bed pillows each year, will grow to over 400,000 square feet and will add 100 new jobs over five years, doubling the current size of the workforce. American Textile Company originally expected to employ 120 people there by 2016. Located 180 miles south of Atlanta, Tifton is one of American Textile's four U.S. plants. The company also has operations in China and El Salvador.
"Our expansion so soon after opening is fueled in part by consumer demand for our AllerEase allergen barrier and EvenTemp temperature regulation bedding products, but also by the positive business climate we've seen in Tifton," said Lance Ruttenberg, president and ceo of Pennsylvania-based American Textile.
