Calhoun, Ga. - Borrowing inspiration from a variety of fashion trends and tapping into trends in upholstery and paint colors, Surya is coming to the Las Vegas Market this month with a broad and deep assortment of new rugs, dec pillows, and other accent pieces.
The company will display the new offerings within themed vignettes throughout its showroom - located in space LVM C400 - with the idea of providing retailers merchandising ideas that can be easily applied on the selling floor.
Some of the new collections include:
- Bagras: This grouping encompasses low-sheered, hand-knotted rugs in traditional motifs with a distressed, hand-drawn appearance and rich sheen;
- Houseman: The rugs present a new take on hides, featuring bright hues and pieced geometric patterns;
- Shibori: Composed of hand-tufted rugs, this group's patterns are fluid, depicting printed organic motifs inspired by traditional Shibori tie-dying arts;
- Solid-hued poufs: The are new styles are relaxed and over-scaled, and available in several fabrications, including velvets and linens.
In addition, several designer collections will be expanded and introduced, including: graphic and colorful poufs, pillows and indoor/outdoor rugs from Kate Spain; highly-textured, natural fiber rugs from Jill Rosenwald; pillows and rugs from Mike Farrell; and velvet and beaded linen pillows from Candice Olson.
Surya will also unveil line extensions: the Gemini collection of hand-tufted rugs in bamboo silk featuring cascading marbled patterns; and the Zahra accent furniture collection, based upon Surya's award-winning Zahra rug collection, which now also offers hand knotted, zero-pile poufs and ottomans in bold color and patterns that pay homage to traditional Persian rug crafts.
