Nourison to expand Calhoun, Ga. facility by spring

Saddle Brook, N.J. -- Nourison is expanding its 305,000-square-foot distribution center in Calhoun, Ga., with an additional 132,000 square feet of space that is set to be completed by this spring.
Construction is already under way, and plans call for the addition of state-of-the-art machinery as well as advanced logistics, new office space and expanded shipping and receiving capabilities.
Andrew Peykar, vp, said, "This state-of-the-art facility and systems we have put in place allow us to turn orders around very quickly, sometimes minutes after the order is taken. We are poised now to turn that sometimes to always. We will also be adding 40 to 50 new employees as well as new equipment, such as high-speed picking machines to this location."
Currently, the site is a warehouse that stores, processes and ships out much of the company's lines of area rugs, accent rugs, home accents and broadloom products. It also serves as the base for Nourison's hospitality division, including executives, designers and sales staff.
The company will continue to ship from its headquarter facilities here, Peykar added.
