Bed Bath & Beyond adds networking solutions exec to board

Gerri Elliott to bring technical expertise to BBB planning

Union, N.J. - Bed Bath & Beyond, which is working to beef up its omnichannel retailing, is adding a new board member from Juniper Networks whose background also includes senior positions at Microsoft and IBM.
The addition of Geraldine "Gerri" Elliott as an additional independent member of the company's board of directors expands the board to ten members. She will "bring additional technology and international expertise to our company," said Steven Temares, Bed Bath & Beyond's ceo.
She is currently executive vp and chief customer officer at Juniper Networks but plans to retire from the position later this year. She will become evp, strategic advisor to the ceo once her successor is announced. Her prevue at Juniper has included sales, system engineering, advanced technologies, marketing, services, support, partners and field operations.
Elliott joined Juniper in 2009 after seven years at Microsoft Corporation, where she held a series of senior executive positions. Prior to that, she spent 22 years at IBM Corporation in executive and management positions in North America and Asia Pacific in sales, services, consulting, strategy development, and product management.
